Project planning and execution for the Monument for the Danish international effort was undertaken for artist Finn Reinbothe, who won the invited design competition. The monument is erected on Prinsessens Bastion, part of the Kastellet fortress in Copenhagen. It consists of a simple composition of granite walls, a memorial wall with the names of those who have died, a large parade ground for ceremonies, water-filled wells and an eternal flame.
