Toftehaven Care Centre has undergone comprehensive modernisation, whereby the forecourt and atrium yard were also refreshed. Arriving from Nygårdsvej, patients and visitors come  cross a small square bordered by a low wall in yellow brick. Behind the wall are small areas in which to sit, as well as a circular reflecting pond. The paving of the square is black setts, the surface interspersed with narrow stripes of edging stone. The planting theme is light, with pale birch trees, bush roses and tall grasses forming an inviting backdrop to the area.
