In 2007, the outside area of the canteen at Statens Serum Institut got renovated. For a long time already, there had been the wish to convert the space into an inviting seating area to be used  as canteen garden. Therefore, all disused old sheds were removed, and by opening up the space there was a good starting point for establishing the modern canteen garden. Highlight of the garden is a rectangular block of granite, deepened on the top, functioning as sculptural water feature.
