Skovlunde Square
Project
Located next to the station, this public square serves a variety of functions as many people pass by every day on their way to and from the city. The design of the square accommodates both pedestrian and motorized traffic. A large, softly shaped grove of larch trees contrasts the strict rhythm of granite plinths and paving. At the same time it shields the square from the main road. Seating areas accented by groups of birch and oak trees in gravel beds that can be used as petanque courts and a water feature with jets of water. Made in collaboration with Lundgaard & Tranberg AS, professor Steen Høyer and artist Finn Reinbothe.
